Year 3
Welcome to Year 3!
Below, you will find some useful information about what is going on in the Year 3 classroom this year.
Reading
Reading is one of the most vital part of a child's development. It helps to stimulate imagination, build a broad vocabulary and develop a child's knowledge and understanding of the world around them. At Moulton, our aim is to develop a life-long love of reading. We encourage reading at home to be a shared experience where possible. This may be the child reading aloud to a parent, a parent reading aloud to a child and/or a discussion about what they have read. Children must read with an adult at home at least 3 times a week. Please ensure that this is recorded on their dojo portfolio.
We use accelerated reader to assess the children and find the book level that is right for them. Please follow the link to find more information about accelerated reader: http://www.renlearn.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/AR-parents-guide-updated.pdf
